Wendy Williams defended Kate Hudson against talk that she is "too thin" to be the face of Weight Watchers.

The talk show host spoke to her audience on December 19 during the segment "Hot Topics." The video is found below.

She explained that Hudson had announced she would be an ambassador for the healthy lifestyle brand. But many are arguing that Hudson's involvement is inappropriate.

The actress just had daughter Rumi in October, Like most new mothers, she wore some baby fat after giving birth.

Still, Hudson was called "too skinny" to represent persons who want to use Weight Watchers in their health journey.

Williams said this:

“People are pissed at Kate Hudson… She said she’s having trouble losing weight. I don’t know what she’s lost, but she said she wants to lose 25 pounds… She’s got a multi-million dollar contract with them, then why not? If they’re going to give it to her why should she say no."

The former radio personality was all for Hudson getting her financial rewards.

She explained:

“Here’s the thing fans, get off her strap, because I’m thinking fans of Kate Hudson aren’t 22. I’m thinking fans of Kate Hudson are 39-ish or youthful 35, but you know what I mean, more mature.”

She continued:

“She has good DNA, she’s never been fat in her life. She comes from good genes and if she snaps back and we don’t, who are we to blame? If she gets an offer for Weight Watchers and we’re still sitting on the couch after five years no baby weight loss, then who are we to blame?”

Host Williams spoke confidently as she sat onstage wearing a sling on her arm. It was hidden underneath a baggy gray sweater she wore.

The 54-year-old informed viewers that she had fractured her shoulder on Sunday. That was why she couldn't do the show the day before.

Hudson, 39, shared an Instagram post on December 17 announcing the news. In it, she and Oprah Winfrey are on a Facetime video call discussing Hudson's plans.

When asked why she wanted to pursue the journey, Hudson responded:

“My ‘why’ is really my kids and family and longevity. It’s really about the holistic approach to wellness."

Oprah, a stakeholder and board adviser of the company, chipped in: "Absolutely. And fish tacos.”

Hudson originally shared news of her health plans alongside a photo of her post-pregnancy tummy back in November.

In her caption she wrote:

"MY GOAL: I will be shooting a film in the spring and I'm looking to shed 25lbs. I'd like to try new workouts and eat as healthy as I can. I wanna do all this and keep up milk production, raise my kids, work everyday, make time for my man, have girlfriend time and stay sane!"

We wish her well in her attempts to do what is best for her body, her health, and her family's happiness in the long-run.
